Discovery Call

The complimentary discovery call will give me an opportunity to learn about you and the musculoskeletal (MSK) symptoms you are experiencing. Based on the information you provide and a few specific questions I ask you, I will determine the treatment plan type that best fits your needs. If you would like to move forward, I will send you a link to register as a patient in my electronic health records system. Treatment Plan Types

As a Doctor of Chiropractic in Texas, all aspects of my care will be focused on treating and preventing musculoskeletal (MSK) disorders with a priority on optimizing long-term musculoskeletal (MSK) health.

1

Musculoskeletal (MSK) Chief Complaint Plan:

If you have pain or a functional limitation that is interfering with your ability to perform activities of daily living, work duties, and/or exercise training, the primary focus of your treatment plan will be helping you attain maximum therapeutic benefit, which is the best possible outcome for your condition with the services I provide. Treatment plan duration will vary based on the nature and severity of your condition, which will be discussed during your report of findings.
2

Musculoskeletal (MSK) Wellness Plan:

If you have mild pain that is not limiting you or if you are seeking a preventive plan that prioritizes a healthy and resilient musculoskeletal (MSK) system, this plan will involve both in-office care and action-oriented health maintenance and promotion goals for you to focus on as part of your regular lifestyle. Visits will occur at regular intervals but will be less frequent than the chief complaint treatment plans.

Services Provided

Physical Examination (Chief Complaint):

Thorough evaluation of the chief complaint consisting of vital sign measurements, musculoskeletal (MSK) procedures, and non-musculoskeletal (MSK)/visceral procedures if warranted to diagnose the problem, determine the cause of the symptoms, inform the need for additional diagnostic testing, and guide my treatment and management approach. Musculoskeletal (MSK) procedures include palpation of soft tissue and osseous structures, static measurements, range of motion measurements, functional tests, orthopedic tests, and neurological tests.

Physical Examination (Wellness/Preventive):

Thorough evaluation of the structure and function of the musculoskeletal (MSK) system in addition to health risk factors and lifestyle habits that may predispose you to developing musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions. Procedures may also include performance and fitness-related measurements.

Manual Therapy:

Hands on application of specific pressures/forces that affect the muscles, neural, and connective tissues to allow the body to heal. Performed early in the treatment plan and as your condition improves will become less of the focus.

Joint Manipulation:

Hands on or instrumented assisted application of a high velocity, low amplitude force directed to a specific joint to improve motion and reduce pain. There may be a popping sound, called a cavitation, that occurs with this procedure, which indicates a quick release of pressure from the joint.

Passive Stretching:

Hands on, controlled application of force to elongate a muscle or group of muscles to reduce pain and stiffness, improve range of motion, and enhance flexibility. This may incorporate active patient involvement, specifically through contracting a muscle against my resistance, during the stretch.

Musculoskeletal (MSK) Rehabilitation/Therapeutic Exercise:

Specific myofascial release, stretches, and/or exercises performed under my direct supervision in the office. This is an important component of in-office care and serves as the basis for a home exercise program that I will design for you to complete in-between visits.

Exercise Training:

Supervised, one-on-one exercises sessions focused on improving health-related and/or skill-related components of fitness. This is a component of musculoskeletal (MSK) wellness plans. (Future offering)

Wellness Data Monitoring:

Through my interactive EHR system, I can track your lifestyle habits through regular journal entries. Examples include step counts, aerobic training volume & intensity, sleep duration, fluid intake, resting HR, etc.

Musculoskeletal (MSK) Self-Management, Wellness, and Longevity Counseling:

Education and goal setting focused on safe movement patterns, ergonomics, exercise, diet, weight management, stress management, and/or substance use cessation with the purpose of positively impacting the musculoskeletal (MSK) system.
